Belgian indie developers Fire Foot Studios have unveiled their latest creation: Jester: A Foolish Ritual. The team describes the project as a co-op horror experience set in the dungeons of a medieval castle. Scheduled to release first on Steam, the game does not yet have a confirmed launch date. Up to four players take on the role of resurrected knights trapped in a cursed fortress. Their only hope of escape lies in completing a sacred ritual to break the wicked curse cast by the monstrous Jester.

From the very beginning, the atmosphere is dark and oppressive. Upon awakening in the abandoned castle, the characters find themselves surrounded by traps, narrow hallways, and the constant presence of an unpredictable enemy. The ritual required for salvation involves uncovering hidden runes and completing tasks that challenge both the players' courage and their teamwork.

Each run is unique, with elements that change every time, forcing players to stay alert and adapt their strategies while exploring the environment. One of the most menacing threats is the presence of jack-in-the-boxes left by the villain, triggering them alerts the Jester, who will begin hunting relentlessly. Players can venture alone or team up with others, with a proximity voice chat feature enhancing both immersion and tension.

Communication becomes a vital tool, but also a risk. Speaking too loudly might attract the enemy, while total silence can make coordination nearly impossible. Decisions like sticking together or splitting up to search for items become constant dilemmas. With each item collected, the enemy grows more aggressive, aware that the end of the ritual draws near.
