ALX Theory, an independent solo developer, is set to release Swordai in the first quarter of 2025. From September 30 to October 6, exclusive testing took place, giving players a taste of the intense dungeon-crawling action. In this first-person multiplayer experience, players ascend a massive tower, battling deadly traps, powerful bosses, and rival players, all while striving to escape with their hard-earned loot.

The game throws players into a fast-paced world where every second counts. With only their sword and wits to rely on, players must master a directional combat system, featuring ripostes, feints, and kicks. Swordai introduces a new crafting system, allowing players to combine various items through recipes to unlock up to 25 unique abilities. This complements the existing skill tree system, offering deeper customization for combat styles and strategies.

Players must be cautious while crafting within the tower, as unexpected dangers can quickly end their run. The expanded dungeons now boast 50% larger layouts, including the new Level 1 dungeon area where a new mini-boss, the Fallen Guard Captain, awaits. Traps, hidden coffins, and ambushes by Fallen Soldiers will keep players on their toes, constantly adapting to new challenges.

As they progress, players are rewarded with better loot, with NPCs offering region-specific rewards. Each dungeon's unique challenges require players to stay sharp, combining quick combat reflexes with evolving strategies. The enemies in the expanded dungeon areas are relentless, testing even the most skilled players.

To heighten the intensity, a new portal system creates high-stakes moments where players have just 30 seconds to catch their prey or escape. Miss the window, and the portal transports you elsewhere, potentially allowing your opponent to make a clean getaway with the loot.
