Developed by Sabotage Studio and with a mobile version handled by Playdigious, Sea of Stars is coming to iOS and Android on April 7, expanding the reach of an adventure that has already won over audiences and critics on other platforms. The adaptation preserves the essence of the original project, delivering a complete experience for those who prefer to play on smartphones and tablets.

The narrative follows two Children of the Solstice, Valere and Zale, characters destined to take on the role of Solstice Warriors. By uniting the powers of the Sun and the Moon, the duo is able to cast powerful Eclipse Magic, the only force capable of confronting the monstrous creations of the evil alchemist known as The Fleshmancer.

The game stands out for its engaging turn based combat system, which combines timed hits, combo attacks, boosting mechanics, and a strategic locks system. There are no random encounters, no transitions to separate battle arenas, and no need for excessive grinding, ensuring a smoother and more immersive pace throughout the journey.

World exploration also breaks away from rigid standards, allowing players to swim, climb, jump, and interact seamlessly with the environment. This navigation model, inspired by the studio’s experience with platformers, removes traditional grid based movement limitations and contributes to a constant sense of freedom.

Another major highlight lies in the audiovisual presentation, featuring dynamic lighting and a custom render pipeline that pushes the boundaries of two dimensional pixel art. The soundtrack further enhances this impact, bringing together original compositions by legendary composer Yasunori Mitsuda, known for Chrono Trigger, alongside Sabotage Studio’s own composer Eric W. Brown, positioning the game as a must play experience of the year.

Beyond the main adventure, Sea of Stars offers a world filled with optional activities such as sailing, cooking, fishing, and stopping by taverns to listen to songs or take part in the famous tabletop game known as "Wheels". Every system has been carefully designed to pay homage to genre classics while introducing modern solutions that make the overall experience more accessible and engaging.
