NeoDuel: Backpack Monsters is an asynchronous multiplayer game developed by DiceHit Games in partnership with Rogue Duck Interactive and co-published by Rogue Duck Interactive and The 4 Winds Entertainment. Scheduled for release in the third quarter of 2024, the game combines creature training elements, known as Cosmions, with strategic inventory management, offering an innovative approach to the auto-battler genre.

In an interview, Sara Bouiala, Associate Manager, Communications & Localization at The 4 Winds Entertainment, highlighted the game's unique mechanics regarding inventory management. "There are mainly 2-3 different versions of auto battlers, and ours belongs to the inventory management genre. In the inventory management genre, the biggest difference we see in NeoDuel is the variety of builds and runs. With upgrades, depth in the evolution tree, and a large pool, our goal is for each match to feel unique."

The balance between cozy elements and tactical PvP battles was also a crucial point in the game's development. "While the gameplay is very serious, we wanted the visuals and sounds to remind players of those good old times for the older ones, and for the new players, just have a colorful, fun, cozy look," Bouiala commented. This contrast between a cozy aesthetic and strategic depth promises to captivate a wide range of players.

Regarding post-launch expectations, Bouiala shared the team's vision for NeoDuel: Backpack Monsters. "It's always very difficult to talk about goals for games, but let's say this: we hope and wish for the game to be active every day for a great experience for everyone. To ensure this happens, we have a roadmap full of content that we believe will excite players with each Monday update."

Moreover, the team sees the community as a key element in the game's future. "We have many plans for post-launch content and updates; in fact, we've already shared this on our social media. We will have new elements coming after launch and will add new upgrades and sometimes 1 or 2 new Cosmions, as well as cosmetics constantly," Bouiala explained. The team is committed to listening to community feedback, ensuring that the game continues to evolve according to the players' needs and desires.
