Developed by Throughline Games and published by Hitcents, Forgotlings is a breathtaking cinematic action-adventure set in a magical land of sentient forgotten objects. After five years in development and a successful Kickstarter campaign, Forgotlings, the long-awaited spiritual successor to Forgotton Anne, is slated for release in early fall 2025 in the Northern Hemisphere, launching first on Steam, with versions for other platforms to follow shortly after.

We understand that the extra wait may be frustrating for our fans and players, and we deeply appreciate your patience and support. This additional time will allow us to polish the game, finalize quality-of-life features that improve the combat experience based on testing feedback, and make the game the best it can possibly be.” — Throughline Games.

For those who have yet to immerse themselves in the emotional and captivating world of Forgotton Anne, this will be a great opportunity to take advantage of planned discounts on the title, serving as the perfect introduction to the world before the new game arrives.

Rather than being a direct sequel, Forgotlings is a standalone adventure that expands the universe of forgotten objects. Players take on the role of Fig, a charming posable doll who must unite five tribes of forgotlings, sentient lost objects yearning to rediscover their purpose, while a Beast threatens to destroy the Forgotten Lands. Fig must face enigmatic enemies, explore lush environments, and uncover ancient secrets to understand her role in a world where memories are power.

Featuring hand-drawn visuals, an immersive soundtrack including performances by the renowned vocal group Theatre of Voices, a deep narrative with meaningful choice mechanics, and a vast world full of action, the new game promises to elevate the most beloved elements of its predecessor while delivering an entirely fresh experience.

In a world increasingly divided, Forgotlings invites players to escape into the Forgotten Lands, where their choices shape the fate of a fractured society. This is a story of belonging, of tribal factions at odds, and of finding purpose in a time of uncertainty,” says Alfred Nguyen, Creative Director at Throughline Games. “While we didn’t set out to make a timely allegory, the themes of Forgotlings resonate now more than ever.
