The Italian developer Jyamma Games has returned with a bold and ambitious project deeply inspired by national culture. La Divina Commedia was presented during the gamescom Opening Night Live, introducing players to a dark fantasy world that reimagines Dante Alighieri’s masterpiece in the form of an ARPG filled with sacrifice, tragedy, and relentless trials.
The journey places players in the role of a warrior-poet who has fallen into the depths of Hell. As the descent progresses, the character must face increasingly powerful foes across infernal circles, fighting not only for survival but also for redemption. Each battle and decision becomes part of a larger struggle tied to themes of sin, sacrifice, and the possibility of restoring lost glory.
The experience is designed to remain unpredictable, thanks to a procedural dungeon system that ensures no two runs are ever alike. From labyrinths filled with secrets and peril to confrontations against demonic hordes, the adventure offers constant variety and challenge.
Combat is shaped by diverse weapon classes, each with unique mechanics and distinct strategies. Choices made along the way bind the protagonist to the Seven Deadly Sins, influencing abilities, events, and even the shape of the world itself. Fully craftable weapons and armor allow players to build their arsenal from scratch, tailoring attributes and aesthetics to fit their personal style.
Another defining feature lies in the high-risk, high-reward system known as Demon Core. By embracing aggressive and skillful play, players can channel momentum into devastating force, transforming tense encounters into displays of unstoppable power. The result is an adventure where narrative, mechanics, and atmosphere converge to deliver an experience as haunting as it is unforgettable.
