In September, publisher 663 Games and developer Leap Studio released the action roguelite Realm of Ink via Steam Early Access, priced at $16.99 USD / £14.29 GBP / €16.49 EUR. The game immerses players in the story of Red, an expert swordswoman who discovers that she is a fictional character within the narrative of Realm of Ink. Controlled by the enigmatic Book Spirit, Red must uncover the hidden truths about her existence, challenging her fate in a world painted with a blend of 2.5D Chinese-style ink art and modern design, all while navigating a rich combat system and a deeply engaging narrative about life and belief.

Leap Studio has been actively collaborating with the Realm of Ink community, using player feedback to enhance the Early Access experience. The development team has been focused on delivering a fulfilling, well-rounded game as they continue to refine its mechanics and expand its content.

The Early Access version currently offers four complete levels, eight bosses—including the final showdown with the Book Spirit—alongside Red, the playable swordswoman with nine distinct forms and weapons. Players can experiment with 22 Ink Gem skills, 15 Ink Pets, and over 130 Perks to create varied gameplay strategies. Additionally, roughly half of the game’s storyline and the first layer of world-building are available for exploration.

Approximately 70% of the Fox Inn's content and features are accessible in this version, and the game also introduces the Ink Pet system and the Ink Realm Anecdote, adding further layers of depth. For those seeking more of a challenge, Endless Mode offers a continuous gameplay experience with escalating difficulty.

As Realm of Ink progresses through Early Access, frequent updates are planned, bringing additional character forms, expanded weapon sets, new bosses, areas, and gameplay mechanics.
