The Polish Dark Jay Studio, founded by the husband-and-wife duo Dominik and Barbara Sójka, has announced a strategic partnership with Galaktus Publishing for the upcoming release of their new project, Arms of God. Scheduled to launch in the first quarter of 2026, the title has already made an impression in the industry, earning third place in the indie game category at this year’s Digital Dragons gala. Inspired by classics like DOOM, Brotato, and Diablo, the game promises a dark and intense auto-shooter experience.
Development is almost entirely led by Dominik Sójka, who is responsible for every technical and creative aspect of the project, including concept, storytelling, 3D modeling, art, and programming. “Arms of God has been a solo development journey for me, with countless hours poured into crafting every aspect of the gameplay by hand,” Dominik shared. He also explained that the decision to found Dark Jay Studio alongside his wife came from a desire for full creative freedom. “Our belief in this project runs deep. Rather than pursuing a secure position at an established studio, we decided to build our own company to fully commit to bringing this vision to life.”
In Arms of God, players take on the role of one of the last surviving warriors of an ancient Templar order, fighting back against relentless demonic hordes in a post-apocalyptic world. The story carries a tone of irony and critique, as the demons were unleashed in the name of God, by the Church itself. Players will traverse ruined cityscapes, shadowy forests, and desolate suburbs, ultimately arriving at the ruins of a once-sacred cathedral where hidden truths await.
A deep progression system is one of the game’s standout features, allowing players to equip up to five weapons simultaneously, each of which can be upgraded and combined to create powerful custom loadouts. Strategic character development, fast-paced combat, and a robust metaprogression system focused on rebuilding the Templar stronghold, the Cathedral, add further depth to the gameplay.
For Mateusz Szukajt, CEO of Galaktus Publishing, supporting the project was an easy decision. “When I first saw Arms of God, I was amazed that a single developer was behind such an impressive-looking game,” he said. According to him, the game’s dark, immersive atmosphere, inventive mechanics, and the commitment shown by Dominik and Barbara perfectly align with Galaktus’s mission to support bold, passion-driven indie projects.
