Independent developer Nozomu Games has announced that its narrative driven deckbuilding game, Burn With Me, will launch on October 12 for PC via Steam. The production combines strategy with a supernatural narrative shaped by forbidden rituals, obsessions, and demonic pacts, while introducing a central mechanic in which sacrificing cards can grant devastating powers but also compromise the player's chances of survival.

Set at an occult university, the game follows a group of students drawn into ancient rituals led by an enigmatic and obsessed teacher. Throughout the journey, each character must confront personal desires, fears, and ambitions, while their decisions during the rituals determine whether their obsessions can be controlled or ultimately consume them.

The narrative is divided into six chapters, each featuring its own characters, mechanics, cards, bosses, and emotional themes. The structure is designed to give every ritual its own identity while keeping strategic progression closely connected to the personal conflicts faced by the students.

The card burning mechanic places risk at the center of each run by turning valuable resources into fuel for powerful abilities. Rather than preserving every card in the deck, players must decide which ones to sacrifice in exchange for immediate advantages, creating a constant balance between power and survival. The system also reinforces the game's central theme, in which every gain comes at the cost of some form of sacrifice.

The visual identity is built around hand drawn illustrations created by Eva Manuilovich, who serves as the project's narrative designer and artist. The illustrated world contrasts with the mysterious presence of the Hand, portrayed through live action footage, a combination that strengthens the game's surreal and supernatural atmosphere.

The project's origins date back to Ludum Dare 55, where it ranked among the top 1% of entries. The prototype later attracted more than 20,000 players and received praise from Daniel Mullins, creator of Inscryption, recognition that helped the team expand the original concept into a full commercial release.

The experience also draws on occult mysteries, jazz, and psychological horror to establish its atmosphere, while its characters confront their own desires, fears, and personal conflicts. The combination of resource management, supernatural storytelling, and audiovisual elements aims to make every decision meaningful both strategically and within the characters' journeys.
