Siscia Games, from solo developer Zeljko, officially released Pompeii: The Legacy on April 9, after six months in Early Access. The project represents an important milestone in the creator’s journey, as he developed both the game and his own engine, which, according to him, made the production process more challenging.
“These past months went by incredibly fast. This has been my first solo project, building both the game and the engine, and honestly, it's been one of the biggest challenges I've taken on. But thanks to your support, feedback, and encouragement, the game has grown into something much bigger than it was at the start.”
With its full release, the title reaches its biggest goal, offering a complete campaign with over 20 hours of gameplay. Throughout development, several significant updates were implemented, expanding the depth of the experience and refining its core systems.
Among the additions are a panoramic camera, new dynamic events and disasters such as snow, storms, and volcanic ash, as well as an expanded fire system, city festivals, and arena games. The game also received improvements in trade, an aqueduct rework, building relocation, manual or automatic worker assignment, city walls with a basic military presence, new buildings and production chains, expanded research and bonus systems, UI improvements, more domestic animals and ambient sounds, and major engine and performance optimizations.
