MY.GAMES announced that the Steam version of War Robots, a tactical shooter developed by Pixonic, has surpassed US$50 million in cumulative revenue on the platform. The achievement reinforces the franchise's presence in the PC market and marks a new milestone in the commercial success of a title originally developed for mobile devices.
Originally released more than 12 years ago as a free-to-play game, it arrived on Steam on April 5, 2018, bringing its mech-based tactical combat to PC players. Since then, the franchise has expanded across multiple platforms, establishing an ecosystem that connects PC, mobile devices, and consoles.
"If you look at the size of Steam's library, only a small fraction of all games ever released surpass US$50 million in cumulative revenue," said Boris Burangulov, executive producer of War Robots. "That's why, for us, a title initially developed for mobile, reaching this milestone by bringing the mobile experience to PC, adapting it for the PC audience, and showing what makes War Robots and its ever-expanding universe special is a huge achievement. War Robots is now a truly cross-platform game, and the Steam version was the first fundamental step in that journey."
The PC version has already surpassed 3.1 million registered users on Steam and maintains an active community, with peaks of approximately 24,000 daily active users. These figures highlight the franchise's ability to expand beyond the mobile market and establish a solid audience among PC players.
The release on consoles earlier this year also introduced cross-platform play, bringing PC, mobile, and console players together in a single global community. According to the developer, the game's tactical design allows players on different platforms to compete on equal terms, without requiring platform-specific balancing adjustments to compensate for differences between devices.
