Bolt Blaster Games kicked off the Halloween season with a new update for The Spell Brigade. Following last month’s release of the Astral Riftlands realm, the studio introduced Update 13, packed with spooky new features and fresh content for fans of magical co-op chaos. Highlights include new spells, themed enemies, mission objectives, and pumpkin outfits that bring a festive twist to the battlefield.

The update adds two new spells to the wizards’ arsenal: Swirl Sickle and Spear Barrage. Both can be selected during runs, opening up new build paths and powerful late-game synergies that expand the strategic depth of every encounter.

Among the new threats, the fearsome Broodmaw emerges as an elite enemy capable of dropping eggs across the battlefield. If left unchecked, these eggs hatch and unleash chaos, putting even the most seasoned spellcasters to the test.

Update 13 also introduces a new mission objective: a herd of Mana Beasts has escaped, and it’s up to the wizards to round them up and safely guide them back home. This task adds a refreshing cooperative twist to the combat flow, encouraging players to balance teamwork and spell mastery.

Another major feature is the reworked dark element, Corruption, which now behaves more intelligently and aggressively. Many enemies, including bosses like Sol’phish and Krog’wa, react with unique behavior when corrupted, making each battle more unpredictable and intense.

To celebrate the season, Bryony’s failed infiltration of the Pumpkin Realm has scattered pumpkin outfits across the world. Four new themed costumes can now be unlocked through quests, adding a playful and festive flair to the adventure. The update also removes the countdown timer from the start screen, signaling a milestone moment: this is the final major content update before version 1.0.

With its survivors-like gameplay and online co-op for up to four players, the game invites wizards to unite against relentless hordes of dark creatures. Between synergizing spells, completing team-based objectives, and embracing pure magical mayhem, the experience remains a chaotic celebration of friendship and destruction that has defined The Spell Brigade since its early days.
