The latest update to the public demo of Arms of God marks a significant step forward in the development of the next-generation autoshooter created by solo developer Dominik Sójka of Dark Jay Studio. The expanded content arrives as the project gains momentum during Bullet Heaven Festival 3.0, a period in which more than 4,000 players have already experienced the brutal Doom-inspired action, earning the title a strong positive rating above 90% on Steam.
The new demo content includes the unlock of Act II, featuring 15 brand-new, handcrafted levels. Each stage offers unique visuals, narrative entries, and a deeper look into the corrupted cathedral grounds. The environment now also features destructible objects, allowing certain marked elements to be shattered using player abilities and adding new layers of impact and strategy to the fast-paced combat.
Cathedral progression has been refined with a clearer hint system that objectively explains how permanent blessings become available as players reclaim the location. This adjustment makes navigation more intuitive and strengthens the sense of continuous advancement throughout the journey.
On the technical side, the game now offers new anti-aliasing options, including “Super Res,” designed for ultra-high-resolution rendering and ideal for players with powerful GPUs. The demo also received expanded localization, now available in German, Korean, and Russian, widening its reach to new audiences.
The update also includes Act IV artwork, serving as a small visual teaser of what awaits players in later chapters. While brief, this glimpse reinforces the scale of the narrative and the artistic ambition of the project.
For the next major update, the developer confirmed the arrival of the new Act II boss, “The Bishop,” a story-significant encounter that further expands the corruption consuming the church. The addition promises a deeper narrative impact and a heightened level of challenge.
Another major feature on the way is “The Codex,” a full in-game compendium that will gather lore, gameplay tips, and detailed mechanical explanations. Meanwhile, the metaprogression system will receive a significant expansion: what currently appears in the demo as “The Statue” is only a placeholder offering basic upgrades. In the final release, there will be six progression buildings, each enabling unique evolution paths throughout the experience.
