Developer Art Thieves, in partnership with co-publisher Gamersky Games, has announced that Goblin Vyke: The Thief Tycoon will launch on PC via Steam on April 30, 2026. The project stands out for combining exploration, stealth, and management elements within a metroidvania structure set in a medieval world.
In the experience, players take control of Vyke, a goblin who lives a double life. By night, he infiltrates dangerous dungeons to steal valuable treasures, while by day, he runs his own shop, selling the loot for massive profits. The 2D side-scrolling gameplay blends stealth mechanics with business management, while reinforcing its metroidvania identity through exploration and progression across interconnected areas.
Throughout the journey, players must master stealth skills, escape death in challenging situations, and uncover the secrets of the Demon King. At the same time, they will need to recruit employees and expand their business operations, turning a small shop into a thriving black market empire.
The progression system offers a constant sense of growth, taking the protagonist from a poor and resourceless goblin to an influential tycoon. This balance between action and strategy strengthens the game’s identity, delivering both tense and thoughtful moments.
During the latest Steam Next Fest, the title gained significant attention by breaking into the top 1000 most wishlisted games on the platform, surpassing 55,000 demo downloads. This performance highlights the audience’s interest in its unique concept.
"Over the two years of making this game, I started to feel like a goblin myself — every time I saw a great design in another game, I couldn't help but stop and study it, pull it apart, and figure out why it worked." Said game producer Lindro Zhang. "Every time I thought the game was good enough, I'd find one more thing I wanted to polish, one more idea I wanted to squeeze in. I think that's greed at its best. This is our first game as a three-person team, and I'm sure there are rough edges, but every mechanic that made it into the final build is there because we played it ourselves and genuinely couldn't stop."
