The upcoming nostalgic football deckbuilder NUTMEG! is standing out both on and off the pitch. Developer Sumo Sheffield and publisher Secret Mode announced that each copy sold will support two charitable organizations connected to the football world, strengthening social initiatives through a shared passion for the sport.

The Joey Beauchamp Foundation and the Dalian Atkinson Legacy Fund will each receive £0.05 from every sale until November 2027. Both organisations honour the legacy of the legendary players they are named after and work primarily within their local communities to create meaningful impact.

Created in honour of former Oxford United player Joey Beauchamp, the Joey Beauchamp Foundation aims to address the urgent need for mental health support and awareness across the Oxfordshire community through collaboration and community engagement. “Joey had a gift for bringing people together through football,” says Stuart Crook, Director of the foundation. “This partnership with NUTMEG! celebrates that connection — turning passion for the game into positive impact for mental health.

Meanwhile, the Dalian Atkinson Legacy Fund, established by the player’s family and managed by the Shropshire Community Foundation, is dedicated to celebrating Dalian’s lifelong passion for sports and the positive influence he had on the community. Working across Telford and Wrekin, the fund aims to inspire young people to actively take part in sports, fostering growth and well-being. “It's amazing to see NUTMEG! supporting the Dalian Atkinson Legacy Fund,” says Paul Atkinson. “Football was Dalian's passion, and this partnership helps keep his spirit alive while inspiring young people in the community. We're grateful to Sumo Sheffield and Secret Mode for turning the love of the game into real impact.

James Schall, Chief Publishing Officer at Secret Mode, highlights the positive impact of the initiative. “NUTMEG! is a game close to my heart, and I am very pleased that it can also be a force for good,” he says. “The Joey Beauchamp Foundation and the Dalian Atkinson Legacy Fund are fantastic charities that will be doing brilliant work in their communities, and we're thrilled to be supporting both organisations with every sale of our game.

Set to launch on PC in 2026, the game continues to draw attention for its charming premise and social commitment. A free demo, the Matchday Experience, is now available on Steam, offering players a preview of what’s to come.
