The Regreening marks the new partnership between indie publisher ByteRockers' Games and the studio Positive Impact Games, reinforcing the company’s strategy of supporting independent teams with a strong creative identity. The announcement highlights the publisher’s commitment to backing small studios with a clear artistic and thematic vision.

After a successful first publishing venture last year with Let Them Trade, developed by Spaceflower, followed by a promising partnership with the young talent behind the atmospheric poem writing adventure OKU from Irox Games, this third project further strengthens its presence in the indie scene.

"We are excited about the new partnership with a rising indie team that, at the same time, brings a wealth of industry experience. This women-led powerhouse of a studio impressed us right from the start, just as much as the core game idea of restoration itself. An important and beautiful topic without the usual 'serious games' touch. We aim to help this team achieve the success they absolutely deserve." Maik Reichelt, CEO of ByteRockers' Games

The title describes itself as a soilpunk fairytale, offering a farming simulation experience focused on restoring a deserted world and reconnecting with nature. Throughout the journey, players encounter ancient spirits inspired by Baltic folklore and explore the state of their new home at their own pace. The gradual environmental transformation through gardening, crafting, and befriending local fauna conveys the genuine joy of living in harmony with one’s surroundings.

This is the debut game of Positive Impact Games, a Hamburg-based remote studio founded in 2024 by industry veterans who were awarded the Gamecity Hamburg Prototype Fund. The team is led by Managing Director Volha Kapitonava, an experienced producer and mentor with a marketing background. She is joined by Creative Director Marie-Anne Hachey, previously at gamigo and THREAKS, Technical Director Merve Meszaros, an engineer with ten years of experience and a renowned public speaker, and Art Director Max Besseling, formerly at Grinding Gear Games.

"Teaming up with ByteRockers' Games felt like finding our people. Their excitement for The Regreening and their love for meaningful, cozy games perfectly match where our hearts are. As a team rooted in care, craft, and community, we couldn't ask for a better partner to help us grow our first title." Volha Kapitonava, Managing Director of Positive Impact Games

As a team, the studio aims to create wholesome and cozy games that uplift, connect, and inspire change by addressing important contemporary topics. When asked what makes their games special, they highlight "the power of play to transform" as the core principle behind designing experiences that strengthen and nurture the soul.

For ByteRockers' Games, Q1 2026 remains a busy period, as the publisher is also preparing for the launch of its in-house coding bullet heaven Net.Attack(), further expanding its portfolio of original projects and strategic partnerships.

The game’s proposal combines planting to create living ecosystems, befriending ancient spirits, building a personal upcycling hub, and freely interacting with the animals inhabiting the world. The central question guiding the experience is clear: Can you transform this deserted world into a joyful home again?

Among its key features are discovering new seeds, restoring animal habitats, and learning powerful plant synergies to shape vibrant biomes according to the player’s vision. Players can also recycle old junk to gather crafting materials and transform them into decorative elements or efficient watering systems.

Interaction with mythical nature spirits grants special abilities in exchange for assistance and perhaps a few shiny objects, while harvested flowers and berries can be replanted in new areas or gifted to favorite animals and friends. Designed as a completely stress-free experience with no timers or pressure, the game embraces a rich atmosphere, adaptive music, and ASMR-like forest sounds, reinforcing its themes of care, contemplation, and reconnection with the natural world.
