Independent developer Springloaded has released a demo on Steam for its game development simulator, Let’s Build a Dungeon. The release was accompanied by a trailer revealed during the PC Gaming Show, where details about Twitch integration and the game’s features were also showcased. The game, set to launch on Steam and Xbox, is now available to wishlist on Steam.
In this management simulator, players take on the roles of both Game Designer and CEO, tackling the challenge of creating the greatest MMORPG the world has ever seen. From hiring staff and negotiating with investors to designing dungeons and building immersive worlds, the game offers a comprehensive and engaging depiction of running a growing studio. Realistic demands and events inspired by the development of real titles, such as the iconic Ultima Online incident involving Lord British, add an extra layer of authenticity.
The newly released demo provides a taste of what players can expect in the final version. It allows for the creation of a fantasy world filled with quests and narrative decisions, which virtual beta testers can explore. The branching paths and quest options ensure a tailored experience, emphasizing player choice in shaping the story.
With features like world customization, the development of new mechanics, and a robust progression system, the game promises high replayability. Additionally, Twitch integration puts the community at the heart of the experience: streamers can include chat members as avatars in their game, transforming them into explorers of their custom MMORPG. This system not only enhances interaction but also deepens the bond between content creators and their audience.
Set to launch next year, the title promises a unique blend of creativity, strategy, and management, offering players and streamers alike the tools to craft unforgettable and challenging stories.
