Developed by Beastflaps, SG Racing is an arcade racing game featuring an isometric perspective and pixel art visuals, bringing back classic elements of the genre in an experience defined by absurd humor and combat between competitors. With a demo available on Steam and its release scheduled for November 9, the game brings together four animals and a robot behind the wheels of vehicles equipped with special abilities and unusual weapons, including eggs that can be thrown at opponents. Races take place across six different worlds, featuring tracks filled with environmental hazards ranging from muddy sections and icy surfaces to lava rivers and wormholes in space-themed settings.
The races combine simple controls with situations that demand precision to keep vehicles on track and take advantage of overtaking opportunities. Each environment introduces its own driving conditions, such as mud that reduces speed and ice that makes steering more difficult, while the courses feature hazards capable of turning an apparently straightforward race into a series of crashes and unexpected twists.
The game includes a single-player Championship mode, where participants compete across different circuits in pursuit of victory, as well as a Time Trial mode focused on achieving the best lap times. Local multiplayer supports two to four players, with the option to compete online through Steam Remote Play Together, expanding the possibilities for those who prefer racing against friends rather than AI-controlled opponents.
One of the available modes is Goose Chase, in which racers must escape a determined flock of geese while trying to maintain the lead. The combination of fast-paced races, improvised weapons, and unexpected threats reinforces the game's lighthearted approach, which focuses on both competition and the unpredictable situations created by its mechanics.
