Developed by Sad Socket and published by Hooded Horse, 9 Kings is a fast paced roguelike kingdom builder in which only the boldest combinations and game breaking strategies allow players to reach the title of the ultimate king. Regarding this new stage of the project the team stated: "We're happy to announce that Playdigious is currently porting the game which will be available cross-platform on mobile and PC with Google Play Games!"

The adaptation is being handled by Playdigious, a studio known for bringing notable experiences to new platforms. The goal is to make the game available across both mobile devices and computers, with integration through Google Play Games, expanding access to a wider audience.

During each run players can choose from nine different kings, each offering a distinct ruling style and unique strategic possibilities. Every ruler features exclusive cards related to buildings, units and spells, allowing players to experiment with different ways of managing and defending their kingdom.

Building an empire requires careful planning, as cards must be placed strategically to transform the capital into an almost impenetrable citadel. At the same time the territory needs to expand steadily over time in order to withstand decades of war and constant conflict.

One of the core progression systems involves looting rival kings after defeating them. By doing so players can merge the most powerful cards from their opponents with their own starting deck, creating new combinations and synergies that open the door to increasingly creative strategies.

On the battlefield the wide variety of units leads to dynamic and unpredictable encounters. Available forces include sturdy knights, powerful warlocks, high damage but fragile wizards, and even unusual creatures such as sentient mushrooms, all ready to march into battle and defeat their enemies.

Each king introduces a different playstyle that encourages diverse strategies. Some rulers focus on stockpiling large amounts of gold to hire mercenaries, while others harness the forces of nature, manipulate the flow of time, experiment with dark magic or summon hordes of fiendish imps prepared to fight.

Expanding the citadel is also a key part of long term strategy. As new cards are placed across the territory it becomes possible to upgrade buildings and towers, recruit additional troops and strengthen units by stacking effects and spells.

The roguelike structure also ensures strong replayability, since every run presents new challenges and demands constant experimentation. Mastery comes through trial and discovery, while new challenges can be tackled in Quest Mode, allowing players to explore fresh strategies and survive decades of war, turmoil and unpredictable events.
