Orbyss is a visually stunning logic puzzle game that blends strategic thinking and creative problem-solving in a world of light and shadow. Developed and published by Misty Whale, and scheduled for release on September 10, the title has just received a demo inviting players to explore a mysterious, bioluminescent realm where thinking ahead, switching between Orbs, and bending time are the keys to restoring light to a world under siege.

In this journey, the player takes on the form of a luminous firefly of energy, moving from Orb to Orb to solve intricate puzzles and push back the advance of a growing darkness. Among the available mechanics are time-freezing, drone flying, and sound-based challenges, all with full accessibility support, to overcome shadowy threats and restore harmony to a fragmented world.

"Orbyss is about transformation - of the world and of your own perception," says creator Yannick Audéoud. "I wanted to create a puzzle game that feels logical but alive. Each room is like a poem of precision - no pixel-perfect jumps, no stress, just pure mental flow." Inspired by titles such as Portal and Tron, and featuring a soundtrack by Pierre Estève from the Atlantis series, the game combines contemplation and intensity across more than 40 handcrafted puzzles, interspersed with atmospheric cutscenes and dramatic boss encounters.

The simultaneous Orb control system is one of its key features, allowing players to be in multiple places at once to activate mechanisms, open gates, and manipulate time and space. This unique functionality creates a co-op-like feeling within a solo experience, requiring not physical agility but careful planning.

Additionally, the combination of mechanics across eight distinct chapters, including time-freezing, drone flight, and sound composition, offers variety and depth to the gameplay. The sound-based puzzles use visual cues, ensuring the game is fully playable even without audio.

The setting creates a striking contrast between light and shadow, transporting the player through a hostile universe of abstract geometry, neon lifeforms, and creeping corruption. Every challenge is designed for the mind, not for reflexes, offering clean, logical solutions without relying on glitches or extreme precision in controls.
