Meowstery Wisp, the latest project from DMT Games, now has a playable demo available as it prepares for its full launch in the third quarter of 2026. The game aims to refresh the social deduction genre by removing one of its most common mechanics: player elimination. Instead, everyone remains active until the final phase, ensuring that all participants stay engaged throughout the entire match.

Designed for groups of five to eleven players, the title blends investigation, manipulation, and trust in a contest driven by hidden objectives. Across five rounds, participants explore environments in search of artifacts needed to reach the final stage, while infiltrated spies secretly disrupt the investigation and an occultist pursues a separate master plan behind the scenes.

Exploration plays a central role in the experience, encouraging players to observe suspicious behavior, investigate points of interest, and gather information scattered throughout the map. During these activities, they can uncover clues, earn Insight points, and unlock Special Powers that can either assist the investigation or hinder their opponents.

The game's time system also stands out by moving beyond a conventional countdown. While a clock governs the pace of each round, its progression is influenced by player actions rather than time alone. Certain activities silently advance the clock, often without anyone realizing what triggered it, creating an atmosphere of constant tension and uncertainty.

Spies are particularly effective at manipulating this mechanic, placing additional pressure on the group and generating chaotic situations that can jeopardize the search for artifacts. This dynamic adds another strategic layer to every match, requiring players to pay attention not only to the clues they uncover but also to subtle shifts in the behavior of those around them.

Character customization further expands player expression by allowing everyone to create their own Detective Cat. Additional features include proximity voice chat, cross platform play, minigames integrated into the exploration and analysis loop, hidden alignments with competing objectives, and a variety of maps and environments to investigate.

With a strong emphasis on constant interaction, limited information, and psychological mind games, DMT Games' upcoming release aims to offer a distinctive take on social deduction, where suspicion and observation can be just as valuable as any piece of evidence discovered during the investigation.
