Mystopia is an ambitious project by Last Minute Studios that combines world-building with the art of magical potion crafting in a sandbox environment. With no set release date, the game has already been drawing attention for its innovative and relaxing concept. In an interview, the studio revealed the inspirations behind the development and how the idea of merging world-building with alchemy came about. "We’ve always wanted to create a magic-themed game where players could design their own worlds. We wanted players to be able to create unique effects in their worlds, like turning everything upside down, and we also wanted a magical cauldron to be a central gameplay mechanic. That's how the idea of mixing items in the cauldron to create potions came about."

One of the highlights of Mystopia is the variety of magical potions that players can create and how they affect gameplay and the world-building experience. The studio detailed how these potions work: "We wanted players to be able to achieve different effects in a simple way. Follow the recipes, throw three items into the cauldron, and you can make a potion that changes the background colors! Add three more items from another recipe, and you can create a potion that helps miniaturize decorations and blocks in the world. With three more items, you can get a potion that turns the entire world upside down! More potions can be discovered by crafting items from different cultures."

The originality of the blocks and mystical effects in Mystopia is ensured by the inspiration drawn from various cultures around the world. "Mystopia's main inspiration is witchcraft from different cultures, and this variety ensures that the designs remain unique, as players can discover and combine different types of buildings, fences, and other magical items, in addition to using potions to change the appearance of their worlds."

As for the future of Mystopia, the studio revealed its goals and expectations: "We’ll be releasing an update in the next few days, updating colors, improving interactivity, and tweaking the gameplay algorithm. We’ll also be adding mergeable decorations in this update to help create more harmonious worlds. We’re working on adding a lot of new content in the coming months, such as new cultures, decorations, and potions, as well as new mechanics, and we’ll update the game based on feedback. We’re also running closed playtests every weekend with different people to try out new gameplay elements and mechanics."
