At gamescom, on August 21, 2025, Tethys Games released Fine Work: Act I, the first title in a Slice-of-Life Romantic Mystery series. The work invites players to dive into a peculiar universe, filled with eccentric clients, intriguing deities, sentient cities, chaotic concerts, and dreams woven into unexpected forms. The adventure begins in Gleamhold, where the player, a newcomer, prepares to open their workshop and welcome figures arriving from dreamlike dimensions.


Each visitor brings their own unique dramas and desires, seeking sendshape, artifacts molded from memories. This task goes beyond mere crafting, involving empathy, companionship, and the building of bonds with those who place their trust in the protagonist. From casual interactions to late-night talks and long walks, the game explores the delicacy of human relationships within a fantastical context.


Daily life in the city is vibrant and unpredictable. There is mushroom-delivered mail, memory-swapping between residents, bizarre celebrity pets, underground fight clubs, and even a conch-shaped obelisk that listens to the citizens’ conversations. Gleamhold is a living organism, transforming according to the time of day, the seasons, and the unfolding events of its storyline.


The creation of artifacts is presented as a musical and immersive process. By delving into the memories of clients, players explore surreal 3D dreamscapes that shift to match distinct musical styles, ranging from experimental electronica built from everyday sounds to baroque compositions and even sword-clash breakcore. The experience is as much artistic as it is deeply personal.


Choices play a key role in shaping the narrative. Six starting traits, such as Grace, Strength, or Wit, serve as the foundation for branching paths, ensuring that no two journeys are alike. Interactions with characters and unusual events alter not only the fate of the protagonist but also that of the city itself.


Players are also encouraged to uncover Gleamhold’s secrets through collectible notebook entries. Sounds, sights, and stories of fantastic creatures can be recorded, revealing hidden details and enriching the mythology of this ever-changing world.
