One of the games tested during the Endix Showcase was Verho - Curse of Faces, a dark RPG that draws inspiration from the King’s Field series. The experience takes place after the catastrophic Era of Solitude, a period in which masks became the only protection against the Curse of Faces. Players are invited to travel across the lands of Yariv in search of the origin of this plague, facing constant dangers in a world shaped by decay and mystery.
The Curse of Faces turned the simple act of showing one’s face into an instant death sentence, pushing humanity to the brink of extinction. After 264 years of the “Era of Solitude,” masks emerged as symbols of protection and survival. While the origin of the curse remains shrouded in mystery, travelers continue to venture toward its source, driven by the desire to understand or control its power.
Within this oppressive setting, the game places players before a central choice: fight to free the world from the curse or give in to the temptation of wielding its power for themselves. This decision directly influences the journey, reinforcing the constant tension and sense of danger that define the experience in Yariv.
Developed by Kasur Games in partnership with CobraTekku Games, Verho was released in November on Steam and currently holds very positive reviews. The title continues to receive strong community attention and is preparing important updates for the coming days. The studio is also working on a Brazilian Portuguese language update, with final tests already underway and the release expected soon, inviting players to return to Yariv or begin their journey with a more accessible localization.
