DevGAMM Gdańsk 2025 Brought Together Attendees from 35 Countries to Discuss the Future of Gaming

On February 27-28, the third edition of the international game development conference DevGAMM took place in Poland at Amber Expo. With the support of InvestGDA and AmberExpo, the event's main theme was "The Future of Game Development," highlighting this year's market perspectives.
Bringing together 620 attendees from 35 countries, the conference welcomed nearly 60% first-timers, while 61% of participants were from Poland. The event established itself as a strategic meeting point for industry professionals, providing a comprehensive view of trends and challenges in the gaming sector.
The opening featured an inspiring speech by DevGAMM CEO Maria Chyrvona and Piotr Grzelak, Deputy President of Gdańsk, who emphasized the growing significance of the gaming industry in the region. Following this, the event presented talks from renowned industry professionals, including Monika Chmura (Bloober Team), Thomas Frøhlich (SYBO), Sho Stilo (Riot Games), Maria Mazur (CD PROJEKT RED), Łukasz Łukasik (Techland), and Vladimir Gaidenko (Larian Studios).
Simultaneously with the talks held in the Scorewarrior and tinyBuild halls, hands-on workshops were conducted by industry experts. Among the instructors were Gabby Llanillo (PUBG), Rami Ismail, Stanislav Mishchenko (11 bit studios), Michal Korek (Ten Square Games), Elena Dimopoulou (Epic Games), and Samuel Smutek (Game Changer), providing immersive experiences for attendees.
With over 300 submissions, the Game Showcase highlighted 44 talented development teams and their innovative creations. Another highly successful activity was Engage! with Publishers and Investors, giving developers the chance to present their projects directly to industry professionals and discuss publishing opportunities. The event also featured the Public Pitch, hosted by Rami Ismail, which offered valuable insights and direct feedback. One of the highlights was Paweł Jarosz, who pitched Witchcrafter: Empire Legends.
The third edition of the Digital Vikings Awards concluded the event by recognizing the best indie games from nine countries around the Baltic Sea. Among the winners were Manor Lords as Best Indie Game, Jump Ship as Most Anticipated Indie Game, and Constance for Best Upcoming Game Art Style. The Best Upcoming Game Design award went to PVKK: Planetenverteidigungskanonenkommandant, while Critical Reflex was named Best Indie Publisher of 2024.
The event organizers expressed their gratitude to all attendees and have already announced the next edition, which will take place in Portugal in November 2025. Additionally, the upcoming conference will once again feature the DevGAMM Awards competition, with a total prize pool of $100,000 for the winners.
