Sweden-based indie developer Shotgun Anaconda has announced that its brand-new, high-octane shooter, DeadWire, will be part of Steam Next Fest next week. To mark the occasion, a fresh PC demo is now available and will remain playable throughout the event, running from February 24 to March 3, 2025. However, time is limited—this demo will self-destruct on March 31, making it a fleeting opportunity for players eager to experience its action-packed gameplay. A brand-new trailer has also been released, showcasing the game’s neon-soaked cyberpunk world.

Set in a futuristic metropolis, the game follows Wire, a skilled hacker on a mission to dismantle ruthless criminal organizations threatening his childhood home. Combining fast-paced combat with an innovative hacking system, the game allows players to manipulate their surroundings and enemies alike. Using the Rewire Mode, players can hack and link adversaries, vehicles, and even environmental objects, turning them into deadly weapons. From activating laser traps to using arcade machines against enemies, the entire environment becomes a tool for destruction.

Blending top-down shooting with tactical decision-making, the game rewards both methodical and aggressive playstyles. Whether taking a stealthy approach or diving headfirst into chaos, players must adapt to survive. A dynamic mix of hacking, gunplay, and power-ups fuels the adrenaline rush, while its pulsating synthwave soundtrack enhances the cyberpunk atmosphere.

Beyond the core campaign, players can test their skills in time trials and side missions for extra rewards, adding layers of replayability. As each mission unfolds, the game challenges players to push their limits, rack up high scores, and unleash devastating chain reactions against gangsters, bikers, and crime lords.

The DeadWire demo is available now on Steam, offering a glimpse into its thrilling world before the full release later in 2025. With limited time to play, those eager to immerse themselves in its electrifying combat should act fast before the demo disappears on March 31.
