The action adventure starring the ronin Tomoe, Bloodless, officially arrived on Android devices on September 2. The protagonist uses only her fists and a dash-counter mechanic based on counterattacks to disarm former allies who now serve the Shogun Akechi’s samurai army, remaining committed to taking no lives.
The non-lethal combat system combines precise counterattacks with powerful ki techniques, allowing players to create different sequences of strikes during encounters. Progression also offers customization options through special techniques, as well as upgrades obtained from crests and herbal infusions found throughout the regions of Bakugawa.
Tomoe’s journey unfolds across a land marked by sacred natural landscapes and districts subjected to a violent and corrupt military regime. Considered a coward and deserter by her own people, the ronin returns to her homeland determined to reignite the hope and courage needed for the people of Bakugawa to stand against their oppressors.
Additional challenges expand the experience beyond the main campaign, with Warrior Idols scattered throughout Bakugawa and Arenas that test mastery of the combat mechanics. The experience also features a Casual mode and accessibility options that reduce the difficulty by adjusting the confrontation system for players who want to follow the narrative without the same level of intensity as the original experience.
A roguelike mode takes Tomoe to a mysterious island, where the gods Namazu and Baku guide her journey as she confronts corruption and overcomes various challenges. The goal is to purify the island and progress toward a confrontation with The Slasher, a figure connected to the protagonist’s past.
Before its arrival on Android, the title received positive reviews from critics and players on Steam, where it also has a demo, in addition to having been released for Nintendo Switch in 2024. The mobile version now expands the reach of the adventure developed by Point N’ Sheep, bringing its combat system based on defense, precision, and disarming to a new platform.
