Last week, on September 24th, Beyond Galaxyland was officially launched by United Label, bringing to life the work of Chicago-based producer and game developer Sam 'EnrightBeats' Enright. Available on multiple platforms, including PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch™, the game is an adventure RPG inspired by iconic 1980s sci-fi films and classic 1990s turn-based RPGs. Set in the vast and vibrant Galaxyland, the game follows Doug, a high schooler, and his pet guinea pig, Boom Boom, as they embark on a quest across different planets after Earth’s destruction by a cosmic entity known as "The End."

The game modernizes the nostalgic RPG experience by blending platforming, puzzle-solving, turn-based combat, and epic boss battles. One of the standout features is a unique capture-and-summon mechanic, allowing Doug to use creatures he encounters in battle to aid him in future fights. As he journeys through Galaxyland’s diverse worlds, Doug makes new friends and allies, all while trying to find a way to reverse the catastrophic destruction of Earth.

Reflecting on the development process, Sam Enright shared, "It has been an incredible, personal journey for me over the past six years – and I cannot believe that Doug and Boom Boom’s story is finally out there for people to enjoy. It’s a heartfelt homage to some of the best childhood memories I have, of playing seminal RPGs like Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy VII and watching iconic sci-fi like Star Wars and Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy."
