The turn-based strategy RPG set in a future where humans and artificial intelligence coexist, Artis Impact, has officially arrived on Nintendo Switch. Developed by Mas and Feuxon, the title has already posted strong numbers since its release on Steam in August 2025, accumulating more than 2,500 user reviews and maintaining an 81.5% "Very Positive" rating.
The production has also received recognition across the independent games scene, winning the Vermilion Award, the grand prize at BitSummit PUNCH 2026, as well as the Grand Prize at the RPG Maker Award 2026. These achievements reinforce the reception the project has received since its debut, particularly among players interested in original experiences built around narrative and classic RPG systems.
Set 3,000 years in the future, the story presents an Earth that has lost its former glory after humanity's desires contributed to irreversible destruction. Amid a world marked by scarcity, human survivors struggle against the rule of out-of-control artificial intelligence, while small pockets of resistance remain active.
Protagonist Akane is a rookie agent of the resistance organization "A-Lith" who sets out on a mission alongside Bot, a small robot equipped with artificial intelligence. The pair travels through this hand-crafted post-apocalyptic world while investigating secrets connected to the reality in which they live, combining dramatic moments with lighter and humorous situations.
Development was led by Mas, an independent developer from Malaysia, who worked alone for four years using RPG Maker MV. The production resulted in more than 4,000 hand-drawn pixel animation frames, used to bring the characters to life and give personality to the different environments throughout the devastated world.
The visual approach is complemented by a turn-based combat system inspired by 1990s JRPGs. The design aims to keep encounters accessible to newcomers while offering enough challenges and meaningful decisions to satisfy players familiar with the genre.
The narrative combines the main campaign with sidequests that explore different situations and characters, alternating dramatic twists with warmer interactions and moments of humor. Akane's personality also contributes to this contrast, balancing her serious attitude as a member of the resistance with moments of lightheartedness throughout the journey.
The experience also allows players to temporarily step away from the conflicts to manage and customize a home. Activities such as part-time jobs, financial management, bathing, exercise, and cooking complement the adventure and introduce a more relaxed routine within the post-apocalyptic setting.
Described by Mas as "a small but soulful world made with all my love for gaming", the project seeks to offer a warmer perspective on a genre commonly associated with devastation and survival. The combination of hand-drawn pixel art, turn-based combat, a humorous narrative, and everyday activities now reaches Nintendo consoles following its journey on PC.
