Developer MindEdges and publisher Skystone Games have announced AGRONOM, a new farming and automation title that combines industrial systems inspired by genre classics with a more intimate and welcoming atmosphere. Set on Mars during the 22nd century, the project invites players to build an agricultural settlement on a barren planet while merging advanced technology with Eastern European cultural traditions.
The experience places players on a personal mission to transform sterile red soil into a thriving home. The narrative revolves around the memory of Sofia, the wife of Grandpa Makar, who dreamed of a place filled with gardens, purpose, and warmth. Starting with limited resources, players must gradually expand their base, explore new regions of the planet, gather materials, and cultivate crops in the middle of the harsh Martian environment.
The progression system focuses on automated production chains, allowing players to create complex structures using conveyor belts, industrial furnaces, robots, and automated greenhouses. At the same time, the visual direction avoids the cold aesthetic commonly found in management games, featuring colorful constructions, painted wood, and traditional elements inspired by Eastern European rural life. The robots themselves also have distinct personalities, reinforcing the game’s cozy identity.
Alongside resource gathering and base construction, players will be able to optimize production lines to craft tools, improve facilities, and unlock new areas of the map. The combination of mechanical efficiency and comforting atmosphere stands out as one of the project’s main strengths, aiming to balance strategic challenges with the feeling of building a true home on an impossible world.
