The independent publisher Bold Head Interactive, in partnership with developer Pentapaw Studios, has announced the worldwide release of Yarn Guardians, a 2D action-adventure game where players control flying cats armed with magical yarn balls. The title is now available for Windows, macOS, Linux, and Nintendo Switch, bringing a hand-drawn universe filled with secrets, challenging enemies, and a lighthearted, humorous tone.

In the game, players take on the role of a team of five feline guardians, each with unique abilities powered by yarn. This variety of playstyles allows for strategic combinations to face enemies and explore a vibrant world that blends combat with mechanics inspired by the Metroidvania genre.

The experience can be enjoyed in different ways: solo, in local co-op during the main campaign, or in competitive matches with up to four players in versus mode. This range of options reinforces the goal of being an accessible and fun game for both solo sessions and friendly gatherings.

The settings are divided into hand-drawn biomes, populated by quirky characters and full of surprises. The warm and humorous tone gives the game a distinctive atmosphere, further enhanced by the original soundtrack composed by Void Omen, which accompanies both exploration moments and more intense battles.

Among the main highlights are the five playable heroes, each with their own personality, along with twin-stick combat that demands precision and dynamism. The combination of detailed exploration and intense encounters ensures a varied rhythm, inviting players to discover new paths and hidden secrets.
