The indie studio Yboga doo has released a major update for CRIMSON FREEDOM, its story-driven RTS, bringing significant improvements based on community feedback while celebrating the milestone of over 20,000 wishlists.

After several weeks analyzing player feedback from the Steam demo and the Discord community, the team implemented substantial changes focused on responsiveness, control, and overall gameplay feel, making the experience smoother and more accessible.

One of the main highlights is the rework of unit movement, particularly acceleration and turn rates. Units now start, stop, and change direction much faster, increasing command precision without altering their maximum speed. In addition, major improvements were made to pathfinding and unit interaction, allowing them to move more naturally, avoid getting stuck, and engage more effectively in combat.

Battles also benefit from refinements to stances and threat response, making units react more proactively to nearby dangers while still respecting their assigned behaviors. This results in more dynamic encounters and more intuitive control when managing individual units.

On the quality-of-life side, several highly requested features have been added, including grouping production buildings, queuing units across multiple structures, more efficient rally point adjustments, and quick access to idle builders. Players can also freely edit control groups, cancel construction with a full refund, and instantly remove units or buildings when needed.

Finally, CRIMSON FREEDOM also received visual and audio improvements, with abilities now displaying clearer effects that are easier to read during combat. Unique sounds have been added for different buildings, while commands issued through the fog of war now provide proper visual feedback, including on the minimap, where side objectives are more clearly highlighted.
