Mango Leaf Games has unveiled Winter Whiskers, a new cozy cleaning simulator that is also taking part in the Cozy & Family Friendly Games Celebration, which began this Wednesday, May 28. The project transforms the task of clearing snow into a relaxing and satisfying experience, blending light exploration, interactive tools, and a warm atmosphere inspired by peaceful winter mornings.
The adventure takes place in Winterlight Harbor, a small harbor town struck by an unexpected blizzard just before the highly anticipated Winter Festival. With streets blocked and essential systems compromised, the townspeople rely on the player to restore daily life and ensure the celebration can continue as planned.
At the center of the gameplay is a snow vacuum capable of clearing pathways, removing frozen snowdrifts, and fueling furnaces connected to the town’s steam powered system. As the collected snow is converted into energy, homes regain heat, streetlights illuminate the roads once again, and steam vents melt frozen sections scattered throughout the environment.
According to Axie Lotl, Art Director at Mango Leaf Games, the project’s main goal is to create a very specific feeling for players. “For us, the appeal of Winter Whiskers is the feeling it creates. It's inspired by our love for peaceful snowy mornings, when everything feels quiet, slow, and a little magical. We also love games that simply feel good to interact with. We want players to experience that simple 'brain go brrrr' feeling of carving clean paths through thick snow, the satisfying burst of blowing away snow, and the nice melting of snow from the steam powered system of the town.”
Beyond clearing the streets, the experience also encourages interaction with local residents. Players will be able to help shop owners clear snowy storefronts, complete important deliveries, and take on small tasks that assist the town in preparing for the festival.
Progression unfolds gradually, introducing new ways to reach difficult areas and overcome icy obstacles. The steam system plays a central role in this advancement, opening previously inaccessible paths and speeding up the snow melting process across different regions of the map.
The cozy atmosphere also extends to the visuals and side activities. As the cleanup progresses, the town slowly comes back to life, revealing decorations, lighting, and festive spaces prepared for the Winter Festival.
