Traptics has officially announced Xenopurge, a real-time tactics game inspired by the movie Aliens, set to launch on Steam in Q2 2025. Players step into the role of a Commander tasked with combating the Xenos threat in a sci-fi universe filled with strategic challenges and fast-paced decisions.
The gameplay blends real-time tactics with roguelite mechanics, immersing players in an intense experience. Every decision, from issuing attack orders to monitoring the survival of the squad, is critical to mission success. "This is your chance to experience the game early and share your feedback directly with our team. Your insights will play a pivotal role in shaping the game's mechanics, features, and overall design," said Mike Papagathangelou, CEO of Traptics.
The playtest marks the beginning of a collaborative journey between the studio and the community, allowing for adjustments and improvements based on direct player feedback. Additionally, a Kickstarter campaign is planned for 2025, promising to further expand the game’s scope and refine its vision.
With a retro-futuristic horror atmosphere inspired by the tension of Aliens and the claustrophobic corridors of Warhammer 40K: Space Hulk, the game offers a dense universe where every decision feels impactful and keeps players on edge.
Xenopurge challenges fans of tactics and sci-fi to lead a squad against overwhelming odds, adapting to dynamic mission objectives while fighting to ensure humanity’s survival against a relentless alien menace.
