TORSHOCK recently released Total Reload, an exploration and science fiction experience in which the player assumes the role of an Artificial Intelligence named HAWKING, tasked with activating a mechanism capable of restarting the Universe itself. Available on Steam and the Epic Games Store, the title invites players to embark on a reflective and technical journey where each solved puzzle brings them closer to rebuilding all of existence.

The story poses a fascinating question: what if it were possible to restart everything that went wrong? This is the central premise of a cosmic experiment gone awry, now offering the rare opportunity for a universal reboot. The player awakens inside a massive mechanical structure, impressive in scale and complexity, and must explore its various sectors to understand how to activate its essential systems.

While controlling HAWKING’s physical body, the player soon realizes that the AI’s mind functions independently, aware that someone else has taken over. This duality creates an intriguing narrative layer in which HAWKING communicates through text messages that appear at specific moments during exploration. The interaction deepens as the player discovers mysterious symbols that can be scanned in different sequences, forming questions directed to the digital consciousness.

Above all, the story is a metaphor about loneliness, self-discovery, and persistence. Beneath its science fiction surface lies a parallel to the creative journey of developers who face intellectual and emotional challenges in pursuit of something grand and sometimes unattainable. References to pop culture and science, such as songs by the band Muse and works by Robert Heinlein, reinforce its contemplative and existential tone.

The game’s world consists of multiple areas connected by fast-travel devices known as Quantum Transporters. Each sector contains different energy sources that must be combined into a unified network, requiring logical reasoning and mastery of complex electrical connections.

This mechanic translates into the idea of “think with wires”: understanding that by temporarily redirecting power, it is possible to reach previously inaccessible locations. Moving platforms, sensor grids, energy filters, and sealed doors become part of an intricate system where every action affects the balance of the entire mechanism.

More than just an exploration game, Total Reload is an interactive reflection on the act of beginning again, whether in the universe, in technology, or within oneself. TORSHOCK transforms the concept of rebooting into a sensory and philosophical experience, where each spark of energy symbolizes an attempt to reconnect what was once lost.
