Tobspr Games is celebrating the success of shapez 2, their recently launched early access indie factory builder, which sold over 150,000 copies during its first weekend. The game has seen impressive success since its launch last week, peaking at over 18,500 concurrent players and receiving a remarkable 98% "Extremely Positive" rating from players on Steam, with more than 2,800 reviews. Currently, shapez 2 is listed as the #1 Trending Game, Popular Release, and Hot Release on SteamDB.

Tobias Springer, CEO of Tobspr Games, expressed his excitement: “We are thrilled and surprised by the success of shapez 2 during its launch weekend and are excited to see so many people joining in to experience it. Rest assured, we are listening to all player feedback and working to make the game even more satisfying and enjoyable during Early Access.” shapez 2 is a top-down factory building game where players extract and process geometric shapes. Each shape has its own set of building blocks that can be dismantled, stacked, painted, and reassembled in unique ways. Players automate the processing of shapes, build massive factories, and optimize them to tackle increasingly complex logistics and automation tasks.

The success of shapez 2 follows its predecessor, shapez, a 2D factory building and automation game that sold over 650,000 units on Steam and attracted over 10 million players to its demo on shapez.io. This initial game laid the groundwork for shapez 2, which introduces 3D visuals and a visually striking space setting, along with a range of other adjustments to further enhance player satisfaction. The new title has already sold 150,000 copies since its launch and is available for purchase on Steam Early Access.

The development of shapez 2 is also supported financially by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action as part of the federal government’s computer games funding program. Tobspr Games continues to work on enhancing the game based on community feedback, promising an even more engaging and satisfying experience for players.
