SNEG, Ltd., a curator and publisher of treasured classic PC games, announced that The Temple of Elemental Evil: A Classic Greyhawk Adventure is now available on Steam. Based on the iconic and genre-defining DUNGEONS & DRAGONS tabletop adventure of the same name, the title uses the classic ruleset to challenge adventurers to explore a temple overrun by monsters and cultists, amid four elemental-themed factions locked in conflict with one another.

This Steam release builds upon the dedicated efforts of the Circle of Eight and Temple+ modding communities, which have supported the game for years. The new version incorporates more than a thousand fixes and enhancements, including improved stability, enhanced AI, smoother performance, a refined user interface, and numerous quality-of-life updates that modernize the experience while preserving its core identity.

Key highlights include a faithful implementation of the classic DUNGEONS & DRAGONS rules, making it the first video game to do so. The tactical turn-based combat unfolds on a grid, recreating the tabletop feel, while party creation allows players to build up to five custom characters and recruit up to three unique NPCs. A detailed 13-step character builder offers a wide range of races, classes, skills, feats, and alignments.

Set in the classic Greyhawk campaign setting, the game marks the return of this universe to a modern D&D video game, faithfully adapted from the original 1985 adventure module. Non-linear progression encourages meaningful choices with multiple ways to complete objectives, while an accessible radial menu provides quick and intuitive access to spells, abilities, and actions.
