Thanks, Light! is the new game from Lightersgames, distributed by Game Source Entertainment, combining first-person puzzles with an approach centered on manipulating light to alter physics and geometry. The experience places players in a world marked by visual glitches and a mystery built around shifts in perspective, with a demo already available on Steam and a full release scheduled for October 15, 2026.
Light serves as the main tool for transforming the environment, granting weight, collision, and gravity to elements that initially appear to be mere shadows or flat shapes. A simple square can become a staircase, while fragile outlines can take the form of solid pillars that can be climbed, pushed, and knocked down to solve environmental challenges.
Absorbing light introduces another layer of interaction by allowing certain objects to lose their physical properties. Moving balls can suddenly stop, while walls cease to be obstacles and instead become pathways, creating situations in which switching between physical states becomes essential for progressing.
Five mechanics are combined across three chapters, with mirrors capable of duplicating elements, lenses that alter their dimensions, and a fusion system that merges two shapes into a new structure. Progression is designed around recombining these possibilities rather than simply adding new rules, resulting in more than 60 stages and a campaign estimated to last over six hours.
The narrative unfolds in an environment built by a mysterious Administrator, who designed the location in pursuit of a perfect structure. The journey moves through a marble museum, an office filled with corridors that seem to repeat endlessly, and eventually a black-and-white space where memories begin to seep through the walls, turning the architecture itself into an extension of the puzzles.
The anomalies scattered throughout this world also conceal creatures lurking in the shadows as players explore the environments and attempt to understand the rules governing the place. The combination of light manipulation, exploration, and mystery aims to make every environment an essential part of solving the challenges.
