No More Robots, the publisher behind Descenders, Hypnospace Outlaw, and Yes, Your Grace, and developer Konafa Games have announced the release of the first demo for Starless Abyss as part of Steam Next Fest. The cosmic horror deckbuilding roguelike is now available for download, inviting players to face unspeakable horrors from the void.

In the game, players take on the role of a Proxima, a soul awakened from stasis with a single goal: destroy the Outer Gods before they consume the universe. To do so, they must command a fleet of ships and wield an ever-growing deck of powerful cards. Along the way, they will collect artifacts, upgrade abilities, and constantly test their sanity. Resisting madness or embracing it will be a crucial choice.

The demo allows players to battle through two acts, starting with Lucid Proxima, a battle-hardened ex-soldier with a tactical edge, and later unlocking Silo, a mind preserved in a jar piloting a unique and extremely powerful ship. Players can explore different factions, craft devastating combos, and wield the enigmatic Ritual Cards—if they dare to face their unpredictable effects.

With deep deckbuilding mechanics, roguelike progression, and a universe filled with tentacled horrors, the game promises to challenge players’ sanity. Every choice could mean survival or surrender to the void.
