Whitethorn Games, in collaboration with North Star Video Games, recently announced the studio’s debut title, Spray Paint Simulator. Set to launch in 2025 for PC via Steam, this unique simulator blends creativity with a relaxing gameplay experience, allowing players to pick up their spray tools and transform various environments, from rooms to entire buildings. The game promises a soothing, stress-free space where players can indulge in their artistic side without the pressure of time limits or complex mechanics. As the game’s Creative Director, Nick Jefferson Tame, explains, “We value the process of transformation, both in the game and in life. There's something deeply satisfying about taking something old and forgotten and giving it new life with a fresh coat of paint."

In Spray Paint Simulator, players are tasked with reviving the town of Splatterville by starting their own painting business. Story Mode introduces an eccentric group of clients, each needing your painting expertise. From selecting the perfect colors to upgrading tools and equipment, players will build their painting empire from the ground up. The game also features a Free Spray Mode, offering unlimited creative freedom as players transform the entire town into their canvas. Whether painting homes, bridges, or even giant robots, creativity has no bounds.

Nick Jefferson Tame shared the team’s motivation behind the game: “In a world full of challenges, we wanted to offer a space where players can embrace creativity, find calm in the rhythm of the spray, and enjoy the simple pleasure of renewal.” This ethos is reflected in the game’s easy-to-play structure, where the focus is on creativity rather than competition, making it a welcoming experience for all players.

Spray Paint Simulator also emphasizes growth and customization. As players progress, they can unlock new tools, vehicles, and colors to expand their business. The prep work, including fixing objects and masking areas, adds a layer of authenticity, ensuring players get the full painting experience from start to finish.

With plans to announce accessibility features soon, Spray Paint Simulator is shaping up to be a game that encourages both relaxation and creativity, inviting players to immerse themselves in the therapeutic process of transforming Splatterville.
