The publishing label No More Robots (Descenders, Hypnospace Outlaw, Yes, Your Grace) and developer Cheesemaster Games have announced exciting news for Spirittea: a massive update is now available for Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X, and Windows 10. This new version brings a wealth of fresh content to further enhance the experience of this cozy, spirit-filled life sim.

In the game, the protagonist moves to the countryside to write a book, but their journey takes an unexpected turn upon meeting the magical cat Wonyan. Before long, they find themselves running an old bathhouse for spirits while interacting with quirky villagers, playing mini-games like fishing, cooking, and karaoke, and customizing their house and character. Since its launch in November 2023, the title has received over 25 content updates, but this one is undoubtedly the most hauntingly exciting yet.

Among the new features, players can now summon spirit companions using pet shrines and ritual scrolls, adding a fresh dynamic to the gameplay. Additionally, the town welcomes the arrival of poegs—adorable spirits that can be fed to generate different-colored spirit essences. The update also introduces new spirits and quests, a mystical merchant offering powerful items to those with high spirituality, and numerous improvements, including bug fixes, gameplay tweaks, and enhanced tutorials.

This expansion promises to make the experience even more immersive, deepening the connection to the spirit world. As an extra incentive, the game is currently 35% off on Nintendo Switch, marking its biggest discount yet.

The Phantom Friends update is now live on consoles and Windows 10, having previously launched on Steam late last year.
