gamescom asia 2024 concluded with a record-breaking 41,013 attendees, marking a 20% increase in participation compared to the previous year. Held at Singapore's Suntec Convention Centre, the event solidified its status as Southeast Asia's premier gaming event. With 177 exhibitors from around the globe showcasing the latest in gaming technology and creativity, gamescom asia has further established the region as a key player in the global gaming industry.
A standout moment came from Shawn Layden, former Chairman of PlayStation Worldwide Studios, who delivered a keynote speech emphasizing the importance of creativity over blockbuster dependency in the industry. Additionally, Singapore’s Minister of State Alvin Tan highlighted the region’s rapid growth, identifying Southeast Asia as the world's fastest-growing esports market, which reinforces the region’s strategic significance in the global gaming ecosystem.
Among the many event highlights, CAPCOM made a significant return with an impressive 1,000 sqm booth. The booth featured exclusive demos and hosted the exciting CAPCOM Pro Tour 2024 SUPER PREMIER SINGAPORE, where Shuto from Crazy Raccoon claimed victory. Attendees were also treated to exclusive previews of major titles such as Monster Hunter Wilds and Street Fighter 6, alongside live performances from artists like SHIHORI.
The event attracted over 4,400 industry professionals, bringing together key figures from major companies such as SEGA, CAPCOM, and Xbox. gamescom asia 2024 not only set a new standard for regional business engagement but also positioned Southeast Asia as a growing hub in the global gaming market. Looking ahead, the 2025 edition is set to run from 30 October to 2 November, promising even greater experiences for the gaming community.
