Raccoon Logic, formerly known as Typhoon Studios, has officially announced their upcoming title Revenge of the Savage Planet, set to release in early 2025 for PC and consoles. Revealed during both Opening Night Live and the XBOX showcase at gamescom, the game promises to deliver an enhanced experience compared to the previous title, with more planets, gear, critters, and the series' signature humor, now in third person perspective.

In Revenge of the Savage Planet, players will find themselves stranded on an alien planet after the space colonization mission was abandoned during their 80 years in cryosleep. With limited resources, they will need to explore vibrant, strange landscapes, gather materials, and craft equipment to survive. The game will feature both solo and co-op modes, with split-screen and online crossplay support, offering a versatile social experience.

Alex Hutchinson, Creative Director at Raccoon Logic, expressed enthusiasm for the project. “We’re extremely excited to welcome explorers back to the Savage Planet universe,” Hutchinson said. He also mentioned the challenges faced by the team during development, including the original studio’s closure amid the global pandemic, which led to the formation of Raccoon Logic. He hinted that these life experiences might subtly influence the game’s narrative.

Key features of the game include third-person online co-op, couch co-op with split-screen, and exploration of four distinct alien planets, each with unique flora and fauna. Players will be able to customize their characters and habitats, face battles against alien bosses, and uncover the secrets of these vast worlds.

The Savage Planet franchise has already garnered significant attention, with the original game receiving critical acclaim and strong consumer ratings.
