Publisher GIANTS Software and developer Straight4 Studios brought Project Motor Racing to the Tokyo Game Show with a major showcase featuring a new circuit, brand-new cars, and the introduction of a complete online racing ecosystem.
The developers emphasize a straightforward approach to online competition, removing barriers such as subscriptions, rentals, and complex qualification systems. According to Ian Bell, CEO of S4, the focus is on delivering authentic racing right from launch, catering to drivers who value clean and competitive experiences. Alongside a challenging single-player career mode, the online component is structured to provide accessible yet deeply competitive opportunities for players.
Key online features include cross-play monthly championships with rotating tracks, leaderboard challenges inspired by real-world racing, and endurance events that mirror legendary competitions. Custom lobbies allow players to host races with their own rules, while quick social races offer casual sessions ideal for both newcomers and veterans. Structured ranked championships further ensure competitive balance through matchmaking, divisions, and per-class grids, with progression starting from a license test at Lime Rock Park.
To support fair and consistent matchmaking, the system introduces a 0–100 driver rating that avoids ELO inflation while ensuring balanced grids across platforms. With a dedicated multiplayer trailer, the new ecosystem has been unveiled to highlight its scope and commitment to delivering meaningful online racing experiences.
Beyond multiplayer, the lineup expands significantly with six new manufacturers joining the grid: Acura, Chevrolet, Mazda, Mercedes-AMG, Nissan, and Toyota. These additions bolster a roster that spans grassroots racing to top-tier prototypes, featuring icons like the 1991 Le Mans-winning Mazda 787B and modern contenders such as the Corvette Z06 GT3.R and the Toyota GR Supra GT4 Evo.
The historic Sebring International Raceway also makes its way into the track list, offering players one of the most challenging circuits in American motorsport. With its global release scheduled for November 25, 2025, on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, pre-orders are already available and include the GTE Decade Pack as a bonus for early buyers.
