Funselektor and Strelka Games have announced that over the hill, the upcoming off road exploration game from the creator of art of rally, has surpassed one million wishlists on Steam. To celebrate this milestone, a closed playtest will take place from April 24 to April 26 on the platform, with registrations open until April 16.


During the recent Triple I Initiative Showcase, the developers also officially revealed the region called "algeria", showcased in a brand new trailer. Inspired by real world landscapes, the area invites players to explore vast plateaus, discovering new routes and points of interest such as ancient ruins, sand covered valleys and even fallen meteorites.


The title focuses on a world of discovery, offering portals that lead to new areas as well as the ability to chase meteorites to gather valuable resources. By completing objectives, players unlock vehicles, upgrades, customizations and cosmetics, creating a wide variety of combinations to experiment with throughout the journey.


The experience can be enjoyed both solo and in multiplayer, allowing players to explore at their own pace or alongside up to three friends. Whether collaborating in challenges or simply taking in the scenery, the game offers freedom for each player to shape their own adventure.


There is also room for rest and planning, with the ability to set up campsites. In these moments, players can gather around a campfire, relax with a warm drink and share stories after a long day facing the elements.


The dynamic weather system, day and night cycle and realistic terrain deformation add depth to the experience, requiring constant adaptation. Even in challenging situations such as getting stuck in the mud, the game aims to convey a sense of calm within nature.


Scheduled for release in 2026, over the hill will also arrive later on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2. In addition, physical versions with special editions are being prepared in partnership with Serenity Forge, offering options such as Premium Standard Edition and Collector's Edition for players who want to expand this contemplative journey.
