OUTBLAST will launch on June 4, 2026, as the newest project from Rhino Rock Studios, a developer and publisher specialized in technology driven and virtual reality experiences. The title will feature both VR and traditional flat screen support, allowing players to choose between full headset immersion or a more classic gameplay experience.
The story places players in control of interceptor C11-28, tasked with defending the core of the planet Perseon-6 against infected constructs corrupted by a rogue viral intelligence known as Typhon. The threat has rapidly spread across the system, destabilizing entire districts and pushing the planet toward collapse after conventional defenses failed to contain the outbreak.
Inspired by fast-paced arcade shooters, the experience promises nonstop sci fi combat filled with explosions, speed and relentless enemy assaults. Throughout each mission, players will be able to boost their ship, unleash devastating bombs and survive waves of enemies in battles that demand quick reflexes, precision and adaptability.
The campaign will unfold across five deadly districts, each guarded by legendary bosses inspired by mythological creatures such as Hydra, Gorgon, Minotaur, Siren and Typhon itself. As progression advances, players will collect valuable data fragments to upgrade their ship and improve their chances of surviving increasingly dangerous threats.
Beyond its main content, the project will also feature a competitive focus through global leaderboards. The system will allow players to compete against friends and rivals worldwide, encouraging high scores, flawless runs and fast paced performances in pursuit of top rankings.
The launch package will also include 15 Steam achievements tied to kill streaks, combo chains, speed laps and perfect mission clears. The feature set reinforces the studio’s intention to combine accessible arcade gameplay with progression mechanics and online competition.
