The charity SpecialEffect celebrated a remarkable achievement by bringing together games industry companies from around the world that united to support its transformative work. Donations gathered around October 3 came from mobile and PC game sales, company-driven fundraising challenges, and the first edition of the One Special Walk charity event held in London.

The funds raised from One Special Day will be a huge boost in the charity's mission to enrich inclusion and quality of life by helping people with physical disabilities to play video games to the best of their abilities.

Dr Mick Donegan, CEO and founder of the organization, stated "We're truly overwhelmed by the extraordinary support we've received from our friends across the games industry through One Special Day, especially during a challenging period for so many companies. As demand for our services continues to rise this remarkable contribution will play a vital role in helping us share the joy of gaming with thousands of people with physical disabilities - and in supporting developers worldwide to make their games accessible to everyone."

The amount raised is the largest in the ten-year history of the campaign and demonstrates the reach of collective engagement around the cause. It also represents around 25% of the annual funds required to maintain the essential services offered.
