Saudi developer Ash Games Studio has unveiled a new teaser for Nomad, an action roguelike that draws players into the depths of Arabian mythology by adapting the legend of Zarqa for video games. The adventure follows the heroine on a quest to restore justice across a magical peninsula consumed by corruption, where dark gem fueled forces have transformed the land into a realm ruled by fear and destruction.
The story begins after Zarqa's hometown is destroyed and her husband is killed, a tragedy that drives her to vow to cleanse the region of the corrupted mechanisms sustained by the power of the dark gems. Throughout her journey, she travels across mystical Arabian landscapes, battling dangerous enemies, uncovering ancient secrets, and encountering characters whose true intentions are not always what they seem.
Progression unfolds across four fantastical biomes tainted by dark magic, where each expedition challenges players to overcome relentless waves of enemies in order to venture deeper into the world and earn powerful upgrades that strengthen Zarqa throughout her quest.
At the heart of the combat system is Layth's Bow, an ancient relic crafted from magical palm wood and infused with the power of the dark gems. Entrusted to Zarqa by her late husband, the weapon grants access to a variety of arrow types, expanding strategic possibilities in battle while gradually unlocking the full potential of this legendary artifact.
