MicroProse and Drydock Dreams Games have announced that Task Force Admiral – Vol.1: American Carrier Battles will launch in Early Access on Steam on January 27. The 3D command simulator focuses on U.S. Navy carrier operations in 1942 and makes its debut with a public demo already available, giving players their first opportunity to experience its distinctive approach to naval warfare and real time decision making.

Developed with rigorous attention to historical authenticity, the project places players in command of a U.S. carrier task force during the most decisive year of the Pacific War. The experience moves away from traditional formulas, as it is neither a conventional wargame nor a flight or naval simulator, instead delivering a complete 3D, real time experience centered on crisis management and the weight of strategic decisions.

Every element of the battlefield is treated seriously, since reconnaissance reports, radar contacts and delayed communications directly influence the course of operations. Command can be exercised from a claustrophobic operations center, immersed in the fog of war, or through a broad strategic view described in the game itself as the "eye of God", always under the constant pressure of events unfolding across hundreds of miles of ocean.

The design philosophy is clear and uncompromising, eliminating artificial abstractions and reinforcing immersion with the categorical statement: "No artificial dice rolls. No arbitrary statistics. No magical information." This choice strengthens the sense of realism and responsibility, demanding careful reading of the situation and precise planning with every decision made.

Among the main features of the Early Access release are command of iconic task forces in historical and hypothetical operations, a full 3D command simulation that blends wargaming with immersive perspectives, and real time gameplay with pause and time compression, without repetitive click heavy mechanics. The content includes more than 90 ship classes, over 40 aircraft types, advanced ballistics, detailed damage modeling and historically authentic camouflage schemes.

The initial package also offers more than 30 individual missions covering real battles and "what if" scenarios, along with a narrative engine featuring scripted and dynamic events. Flexible realism and difficulty settings cater to both veterans and newcomers, while the scenario editor and post battle 3D replay system expand possibilities for analysis and experimentation.

During the Early Access period, Task Force Admiral – Vol.1: American Carrier Battles will allow players to explore key systems and missions from day one, with the promise of additional scenarios, features and continuous improvements that will expand and deepen the experience over time.
