Spanish studio Malapata Studio, known for developing Camper Van: Make It Home, is presenting Book Nook, a new relaxing experience that combines miniature diorama building with puzzle elements. The title has been nominated for Most Wholesome Game at the Gamescom Awards and will be available for demonstration at the Indie Booth Arena during gamescom 2026, highlighting a concept focused on the satisfaction of building detailed scenes without rushing.
The experience puts players in charge of assembling small environments piece by piece, with furniture, decorative objects, and other elements carefully positioned until each composition is complete. The game has no timers or pressure, allowing every scene to be built at the player's own pace while each piece clicking into place provides the familiar sense of progress found in physical puzzles.
Each diorama also serves as part of a narrative following different stages in the lives of Dario and Elora. By completing the environments, players uncover a story that spans childhood, adulthood, and old age, exploring themes such as love, family, and the bonds formed throughout life.
The game's atmosphere and mechanics are designed to turn simple acts of organization into moments of relaxation, with every object placed in the scene contributing both to the visual composition and to the gradual discovery of the story. The absence of pressure and the attention given to small details reinforce its goal of offering a contemplative experience for players seeking puzzles with a gentler pace.
